Obedience

January 07, 2014

"Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son." Genesis 22:12

There is no way we can Biblically affirm the security of the believer without speaking of the perseverance of the saints. The mercy of God always goes parallel to the wrath of the Lord. In the same token, the Scriptures introduce belief as a synonym of obedience. Abraham's respect and honor for God is the bi-product of fearing towards His holiness, His righteousness and His transcendence.
God help us avoid seeing worship as an isolated experience or a particular creed. Thus, true fear (respect) for the Lord always translates into obedience, driven by a lifestyle relationship with Him.
